LAUFEN CZ has expanded its offer under Jika brand by the new authors’ collection

OLYMP series under Jika brand is a completely new collection for 2009 that should become a preferred customer choice in bathroom furniture, according to Laufen CZ expectations. It is modern, quality, functional both in terms of interior space and maintenance, variable, and – which is important – well priced. Eva and Marcel Mochal from Llev product design studio once again confirmed their environmental thinking by selecting an attractive combination of birch veneer and glossy coated doors for the pilot version.

Czech bathrooms constantly suffer from small floor area, which makes it quite difficult to put in all that is needed for comfortable personal hygiene and relaxation. It is therefore often the case that choice of furniture is based on space that remains next to a washbasin, bathtub, shower cabin, washing machine, or laundry basket. And there is not much space that remains.

Olymp furniture collection meets aesthetic criteria both in shapes and colours, while being highly flexible in space utilisation, providing easy maintenance, and offering good value for money. It is definitely an attractive choice for young families planning to fit their first bathroom, while its practical design will make it a perfect choice for bathroom renovations as well.

Design refers to graceful curves of the popular washbasin from the Olymp series, which is reflected in original curves of doors and mirrors. The authors decided for an innovative solution by integrating a generous arch to the lower part of cabinets, which makes them appear lighter. The overall look is balanced by upper arches of trolley doors and mirrors. Interior space was not reduced by this approach either – the authors even managed to build a large laundry basket into one of the cabinets, which is rarely seen in bathroom furniture collections.

Olymp furniture is currently the only free-standing furniture offered under Jika brand – a practical solution, as some customers cannot opt for wall-mounted furniture because of limited load capacity of their bathroom walls. It sits on its off-set side plates, which provides for easy maintenance. Side plates are made from birch veneer, while door faces are finished with white easy-to-clean coating.

Furniture collection also includes moving trolleys, besides vanity unit, board, laundry basket, and a taller cabinet (130 cm). Trolleys can be placed under washbasins not only from Olymp series, but many other series as well. A perfect choice for small bathrooms includes a corner washbasin with a corner wheel cabinet, and a corner mirror cabinet.
