Prevailing Trends in Bathrooms

Which trends can be observed in the world of bathrooms? Which trends persist and which new trends will 2023 bring? Here are a few tips from the Czech bathroom brand JIKA.

Sustainability

An ecological approach and the conservation of water and energy have been hot topics for some time now, both in this country and worldwide. It is therefore no surprise that sustainability will remain the focus of attention for both manufacturers and customers in 2023. Wasting water and how to reduce this is of particular importance. There are already several widely available technologies on the market that can make a significant contribution to a more sustainable lifestyle. Examples are toilets with water-saving flush systems, faucets with aerators, flow-limiters and high-quality cartridges. Faucets with cold start technology, which ensures that only cold water starts running when the control lever is in the middle position, are also an option that is less well known in our country. This means that during short daily rituals that do not require hot water, the water does not heat up, which saves energy.

Technology for comfort and maximum hygiene

Technological trends will also continue to move towards increasing comfort and hygiene in the bathroom. Examples include special surfaces that greatly simplify the cleaning and maintenance of bathroom equipment, while extending its life, whether it be shower cabins or sanitaryware, and Rimless toilets (i.e. water closets without a water rim), which remain popular and significantly improve hygiene standards.

Colours coming to the fore

The colour white, a proven classic in bathroom design, continues to be very popular. Current trends see it being combined with black faucets, dark shower cabins and accessories. This creates an interesting contrast that is both visually appealing and not distracting. In other words, a new timeless element.

Minimalism and Bohemian style

The aforementioned trends are a sign that minimalism remains in vogue, but with some added touches. Although having a simple, timeless bathroom, which playfully makes use of certain dominant features, has been popular for some time and will not go out of fashion any time soon, other styles are starting to take over bathroom interior design. These new styles are encompassing vintage, Bohemian and romantic elements, which goes hand-in-hand with the growing popularity of flowers and the use of natural materials.
