The Cold Start function has been designed to help you save. It works on the principle that only cold water starts to run when the faucet lever is in the middle position. To activate the hot water, the user is forced to move the lever to the left. As opening the water supply from the starting position in the middle is the most common way of running water, this ensures that no hot water is used at all during a quick hand rinse. The fact is that if you rinse your hands briefly after using the toilet, for example, the hot water does not have time to reach the spout and, as a result, energy to heat it is not unnecessarily wasted.
