JIKA in EXPO 2015

Expo 2015 is taking place in Milan, Italy, up and running till the end of October. It is a very special event, not only because of its huge clout – the organization is expecting more than 20 million visitors over the period, the area is as sparse as 1,1 million sq. meters and more than 140 countries are contributing with their own pavilions -. Guided by the motto “Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life”, hundreds of companies will be showing the innovations and capabilities to reach a World able to produce enough food in adequate and safe conditions for everyone, while at the same time guaranteeing the sustainability of our fragile ecosystems. JIKA is linking itself to this purpose by marketing exigent water-saving technologies in our portfolio.

In fact, the next statements came as food for thought to us, and we are spreading the word in Milan:
- One person consumes up to 50 liters of water a day.
- Up to 900 million people lack access to safe, drinkable water.
- By having a shower, one consumes only half the water consumed when having a bath.
- More people own a mobile phone than have a proper toilet at home.
- By 2050, 2 billion people won’t have enough drinking water.

What is making this Expo really special for JIKA is that we are having a double presence. The Czech Pavilion – ranked the 5th best overall for the Italian press, so extra visitors are likely to be coming – has been fitted out with JIKA products, specially featuring wall and floor JIKA tiles that will be available for the international clients in the near future, beating out other remarkable competitors which a longer presence in the tiles marketplace. Moreover, all Bathrooms in the pavilion are equipped with JIKA ceramic sanitary-ware: Cubito and Cubito Pure sets have been chosen for its perfect match with the pavilion design and their sophisticated appearance, Olymp toilets completely barrier-free will make everybody’s enjoyment of Czech pavilion a matter of fact.
But JIKA will also install an artistic exhibition showcasing pieces of ceramic sanitary ware and faucets recreating an unexpected atmosphere: we have let our passion flourish, and created an area of stalls within the building. Conceived as a refreshing and educative space, a bunch of WCs will be displayed in rows, thus creating a theatre feel, and carefully prepared animations are on display. A nice meeting between Italian artfulness and Czech innovation is underway.

This is just another step in the process of making JIKA a truly global brand. In this sense, strong emphasis is being done to enter new markets hosting great opportunities. Caucasian countries, such as Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, eastern European Moldova, and central Asian countries – Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia – are far-away places where a new generation of customers is willing to enjoy JIKA’s long tradition, high quality and affordable prices. Exciting plans for a new Showroom in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and an Ecostore in Bogota, Colombia, are already closer to reality than to dreams.
